Jen and Arthur experienced multiple setbacks, both medically and professionally, over a period of 18 months. Not only did they fall behind on their mortgage payments, but they had to rely on credit cards to finance their household expenses. Even after they both returned to work full time, they struggledย providing for their four children and meeting their basic needs. Jen and Arthur met with a HUD-Certified Housing Counselor at the Greater Sacramento Urban League to not only address their primary concern of saving their home from foreclosure, but also to discuss options to handle a high consumer debt load. The housing counselor assisted Jen and Arthur by helping them submit their application for the California Mortgage Relief Program and came up with a plan to address their debt. The couple was relieved to hear that their application is in the process of getting approved and they both continue to work with our counselor on their budget and debt goals.
