First Class Kids Tutoring & Homework Assistance
First Class Kids offers a network of support to youth in grades 5th – 8th who are currently in the foster care system and enrolled in the Sacramento City and Twin Rivers Unified School Districts. Through this program, Greater Sacramento Urban League staff members provide an extra layer of academic support to these students and their families.
In collaboration with the Foster Youth Services of each respective school district, we regularly assess and address the needs of participants through a holistic approach. We seek to address the needs of participants in a variety of ways ranging from
- Family employment services,
- Securing housing or food stability, and
- otherwise tailoring our approach to meet the needs of youth and their families to empower them to reach their goals.
